Upgrades for host club of the 2014 China Open

Host club for the 2014 Volvo China Open, Genzon Golf Club have appointed Glen Golf Design to assist them with preparations for this prestigious tournament.

The course was remodelled in 2007 and has matured well but due to the sub tropical climate in southern China the vegetation has become somewhat overgrown affecting both the general tidiness of the course, view corridors and the playability of certain holes, particularly from the rarely used championship tees.

GGD has been appointed to advise on areas that require tree and foliage clearance and landscape treatment following clearance works.  The club is also keen to add colour to the perimeter of the course to help showcase it in its best light for the tournament and GGD will assist on the selection and placement of species to deliver a coherent and sustainable landscaping strategy for the club to follow.

GGD is delighted to have been chosen for this commission and is looking forward to helping the club achieve their objective of delivering a memorable tournament.
